The color pastes in this group are used to color gelcoats, polyester resins and furniture lacquer.
They are used to build intermediate colors mixing within them selves and the transparent colors with any ratio. If this intermediate color is going to be used in brush type gelcoat applications, a test for separation must be made to avoid possible floating.
You will find specific information about all these color pastes in our Polipigment color catalog or in the Product’s technical bulletins.
Opaque color pastes are not suitable for making metallic and pearl colors because it covers those effects. For this same reason, button manufacturers should not use mother of pearlescent powder to color the paste.
Polipigment 01 White
This highly opaque covering (hiding) paste is a perfect white and resistance to high temperatures. For production of color mixtures, 09 White should be used instead of 01 White because of its effect on the cure time. When combined with Polijel 212, 213 and 215 gelcoats, it also has a higher resistance to yellowing and fading.
Polipigment 09 White
This highly opaque covering (hiding) paste is a perfect white and resistance to high temperatures. For production of color mixtures, 09 White should be used instead of 01 White because of its effect on the cure time. When combined with Polijel 212, 213 and 215 gelcoats, it also has a higher resistance to yellowing and fading.
Polipigment 15 Dark Yellow
With a high proportion of inorganic pigments, this paste is resistant to almost all chemicals except very strong acids and alkalis. It contains heavy metals in its chemical structure. Therefore, it is not suitable in direct food and beverage contacting surfaces or toy manufacturing.
Polipigment 17 Oxide Yellow
This consists of oxide-based, classical pigments and can be added at all ratios, alone or with other pigments, into gelcoat and polyester resin. It is not affected by any chemicals.
Polipigment 23 Light Brown
This Polipigment has a classical inorganic chemical structure and highly effective covering (hiding) power.
Polipigment 33 Helio Blue
If added alone into polyester and gelcoat in small proportions, exact transparent products resistant to all environmental conditions are obtained. If added alone more into polyester and gelcoat in proportion of 6-10%, dark navy blue, nearly black color is obtained.
Opacity can be achieved by combining with pigment pastes like 01 White. As it has a tendency of color separation, gelcoats containing a mixture with inorganic pigments should be applied with a spray gun. Take care to avoid dripping, dragging and heaping as this can result in color change. This highly effective pigment paste can be used in every condition. When used at high ratios within gelcoats, it does delay the cure time.
Polipigment 53 Orange
This is a highly effective, opaque, and inorganic based pigment paste. It contains heavy metals in its chemical structure. Therefore, it is not suitable in direct food and beverage contacting surfaces or toy manufacturing.
Polipigment 535 Red
This is a highly effective and opaque pigment paste which is highly resistant to atmospheric conditions.
Polipigment 575 Red
This paste makes comparatively vivid and resistant products with no discoloration under atmospheric conditions.
Polipigment 59 Claret
If added into polyester and gelcoat at 6-12%, those products are resistant to all environmental conditions. It is not recommended to use it in smaller proportions because it can be discolored by MEK-P. If a small proportion is to be used, Polipigment 72 Violet is recommended as an alternative.
Polipigment 72 Violet
Semi-transparent, resistant and very effective pigment paste. If used in low ratios (0,1-1,0%) it will be transparent. If used at higher ratios, an opaque, non-discolored claret red color is achieved. It is suitable for buttons
When used alone or with other pigment mixtures, products are resistant to all environmental conditions.
GRP roof components and stained glass production. It has a tendency of color separation. Therefore, it should be applied with a spray gun. Take care to avoid dripping, dragging and heaping as this can result in color change.
Polipigment 63 Helio Green
If added alone into polyester and gelcoat in small proportions, a dark green color is achieved. In large proportion, you can achieve a dark green or nearly black color. Opacity can be achieved by combining with pigment pastes like 01 White and 13 Light Yellow. It is resistant to all environmental conditions even when used small proportions. At high ratios, it can delay the cure time.
Polipigment 05 White
This economical pigment paste is highly opaque and used for coloring gelcoats and polyesters. For use with gelcoats and polyesters which are in direct contact with chemical substances, Polipigment 01 White or 09 White should be used instead.
Polipigment 13 Light Yellow
This highly opaque, inorganic pigment paste contains heavy metals in its chemical structure. Therefore, it is not suitable in direct food and beverage contacting surfaces or toy manufacturing. For these purposes, a 120 Yellow and 01 White combination should be used as an alternative.
Polipigment 155 Dark Yellow
With a high proportion of inorganic pigments, this paste is resistant to almost all chemicals except very strong acids and alkalis. It contains heavy metals in its chemical structure. Therefore, it is not suitable in direct food and beverage contacting surfaces or toy manufacturing. It is equivalent to RAL 1028.
Polipigment 21 Brick
With an oxide base, this hazy pigment paste is highly resistant to chemicals and atmospheric conditions.
Polipigment 27 Dark Brown
This inorganic, oxide-based pigment has highly effective covering (hiding) power and can be mixed with all pigments.
Polipigment 43 Black
This paste has a very high covering (hiding) power and gives a shiny black raven effect. To achieve a transparent black color add 0.5% to polyesters. At 3-6%, an opaque color can be achieved. When combined with inorganic pigments, it causes color separation due to difference in densities. Therefore, gelcoats colored with inorganic pigment mixtures should be applied with a spray gun. Take care to avoid dripping, dragging and heaping as this can result in color change. It does delay the gel time.
Polipigment 531 Red
An opaque and effective pigment paste containing a high proportion of inorganic pigment in its chemical structure, this is resistant to almost all chemicals except very strong acids and alkalis. It is equivalent to RAL 3020.
Polipigment 571 Red
This is a highly effective and opaque pigment paste which should be added into polyester and gelcoat resin at more than 1%. If used in a smaller proportion, it can be discolored by MEK-P.
It contains heavy metals in its chemical structure. Therefore, it is not suitable in direct food and beverage contacting surfaces or toy manufacturing. If more than 2% is added into polyester resin, it delays the cure time.
Polipigment 579 Red
A very colorful and effective pigment paste, it does not contain heavy metals in its chemical structure. Therefore, it is suitable in direct food and beverage contacting surfaces and toy manufacturing.
Polipigment 590 Claret
This is an economic pigment paste that can be used instead of Polipigment 72 Violet, when used for indoor applications and no need for UV resistance.
Polipigment 74 Violet
A transparent, highly effective pigment paste resistant to all kind of environmental conditions.
If added into polyester at 1% or more, dark purple or nearly black is achieved. If combined with 01 White in small proportions, a vibrant violet color can be obtained.
Used to produce GRP roof modules, GRP roof covers, buttons and also used for coloring metallic pigments. Even if added in very small proportions, it does not cause discoloration. When opacity is desired, it should be combined with opaque colors like white and black.
